Kayak fishing is, believe it or not, a more popular sport even than kayak diving! Just to be sociable, I will try to offer some information and ideas of value for our brothers in kayaking adventure - the kayak fisherman.
FISHING POLE HOLDER
This is the fishing pole/flag pole holder that I feature in my book. The drawing on the left depicts the design to use when you have access to the inside of the hull in the area in which the holder is to be installed. The design on the right is used when no such access is available.
I like to have my pole in front of me where I can see it and reach it easily, but far enough forward so that the pole does not interfere with my paddling stroke. My line goes back over my right shoulder when I'm trolling and the line is high enough to be out of the way while paddling.
